A bright sunny day for a home tie with Priory, notable though was the absence of their manager and ex Forest central defender Steve Chettle. (Rumour has it he’s quit). Calverton began the match with only one sub available to them and captain Sam Raynor losing the toss. Priory strangely elected to kick towards a low early morning sun? Keen to get going they started before ref Barry Timson’s whistle, who playing on saw them kick the ball to touch.

Following on from the first week home defeat to Keyworth, the lads were looking to put themselves back on the map with an away tie to Kimberley. Kimberley managed a 2-2 draw away to Gedling in their first match of the season and we all knew this would be a real test for Calverton today.
